About HWWeekly©

HWW weekly banner about combat sports excellence.

The Home of Combat Sports Excellence

HWWeekly© began with a simple focus: combat sports are more than the action itself. They are history in motion, stories shaped by discipline and rivalry, and shared experiences that bring fans together long after the final bell. Built on passion & historian-level knowledge of  professional wrestling, boxing, and the expanding coverage of MMA, HWWeekly© has grown into a combat sports media brand dedicated to covering the moments, personalities, and conversations that keep that passion alive. Through original articles, podcasts, commentary, event previews, and reviews, everything comes together under one mission: The Home of Combat Sports Excellence.

That journey started in 2018 with the publication of the first Hubbard Wrestling Weekly© article. What began as a personal outlet for founder Sean D. Hubbard’s perspective on professional wrestling soon developed into something larger. In 2020, Hubbard expanded the brand into podcasting and began shaping a broader company vision—one that could connect written coverage, spoken commentary, and creative collaboration under a single identity. As Hubbard Wrestling Weekly© evolved into HWWeekly©, its reach expanded beyond wrestling while preserving the enthusiasm, authenticity, and personal voice that defined its beginnings.

At the heart of HWWeekly© is a belief in what makes combat sports matter: the discipline behind every performance, the anticipation leading into a major event, the rivalries that define generations, and the fans who remember every detail. Our coverage looks beyond the result, connecting what happens in the ring, cage, and squared circle with the stories, history, and personalities surrounding it. In doing so, HWWeekly© creates space for thoughtful analysis, spirited debate, and a lasting respect for the past.

That mission continues through programming such as HUBBanomics, collaborative projects, and original branded merchandise. Each initiative represents another step in HWWeekly©’s evolution and another opportunity for audiences to engage with the brand. Whether fans are reading an article, listening to a podcast, joining a conversation, or representing HWWeekly© through its merchandise, they become part of a community built around a shared love of combat sports.  Our purpose is to inform, entertain, and give fans something meaningful to discuss. As HWWeekly© moves forward, its mission remains connected to the same drive that inspired its first article: a love for the craft, a respect for its history, and a commitment to building a distinctive voice in combat sports media.

Family Legacy

For HWWeekly© founder Sean D. Hubbard, boxing history carries a deeply personal meaning. His grandfather, legendary lightweight champion Beau Jack, holds a place in that history—and in the family story behind the brand.

To boxing fans, Beau Jack’s name represents a celebrated career in the ring. To Sean, it also represents family, heritage, and a connection to a man whose accomplishments continue to be remembered across generations. Sharing that connection offers an opportunity to honor both the champion the public recognizes and the grandfather at the heart of this legacy.

That family history adds another dimension to HWWeekly©’s appreciation for combat sports. Behind every championship, rivalry, and memorable performance is a person whose story reaches beyond the arena. Preserving those stories helps new audiences understand why the past still matters and why the people who shaped it deserve to be remembered.

Through this platform, Sean shares his connection to Beau Jack with pride and respect, bringing a personal chapter of boxing history into the ongoing story of HWWeekly©.

Watch the video below to hear Sean D. Hubbard discuss his grandfather, their family connection, and what carrying that legacy means to him.

About The Founder: Faith, Family & Fun

Sean D. Hubbard brings a longtime fan’s knowledge, a journalist’s focus, and a personal connection to combat sports history to HWWeekly©, which he founded under the Hubbard Wrestling Weekly© company banner. Through writing, podcasting, and commentary, he combines historical perspective with direct opinions, humor, and a humble swagger—all grounded in journalistic integrity.

Sean's Christian faith is the foundation of his life. His relationship with Jesus Christ shapes his purpose, gratitude, and commitment to treating people with respect. His signature sign-off carries those convictions to his audience: “God bless, Be Encouraged, evil NEVER prevails.” Sean deeply appreciates his parents and their influence on the man he has become. He is especially proud to have named his mother, C.B. Hubbard, Executive Vice President of HWWeekly©, making the opportunity to build the company together personally meaningful. He earned his Master’s degree in Counseling in 2019, adding a human perspective to his interest in the pressures, setbacks, and determination behind athletic achievement.

As the grandson of former lightweight world champion Beau Jack, Sean’s appreciation for boxing history carries family significance. His own media experience includes covering Bellator MMA and the joint Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling event at Madison Square Garden. Boxing and professional wrestling anchor his coverage, alongside an expanding focus on MMA. Through HUBBanomics and original articles, he offers considered analysis and welcomes thoughtful disagreement.

Beyond his ownership and operational supervision of the HWWeekly© Network, it's flagship show HUBBanomics® and the Hubbard Wrestling Weekly© brand, Sean also has a venture outside the HWWeekly© umbrella as co-founder of Clash of the Podcasts with his good friend C. Kushman. Further diversifying his entrepreneuroal portfolio, Hubbard's expansion into merchandise—with an online store launched in 2024 and an October 2026 relaunch—reflects his hope to reach the people in a multitude of ways. Each endeavor offers another opportunity to turn creativity into action and build a future shaped by faith, family, and fun.
